In 2008 the annual Neptune Festival of Virginia Beach, VA will celebrate its 35th year.
When it was first conceived, its founders wanted the festival to be a community celebration of Virginia Beach's unique heritage.
Today the Neptune Festival has evolved into one of the country's top
100 festivals and Top 10 on the East Coast. It has become a major
visitor draw, bringing thousands of local visitors to the beach
boardwalk and filling oceanfront hotels.

The Neptune Festival is a unique way to get your name and message in

Festival Summary
The Virginia Beach Neptune Festival is a celebration of Virginia
Beach's sea faring heritage and the grand finale of summer. With an
annual budget of $1.6 million, the Neptune Festival is Virginia Beach's
community celebration. Occurring annually during the month of September
for the past 30 years. Heralded as the city's largest, and one of the
largest events in the state, it has been recognized as one of the top
ten on the East Coast. Presided over by King Neptune and his royal
court, the Neptune Festival includes days and nights filled with
festivities, food and fun.
Location
Pre-Festival events are held at various locations throughout the city
of Virginia Beach, with Boardwalk Weekend taking place along 30 blocks
at the oceanfront.
Attendance
Every year the Neptune Festival draws hundreds of thousands of
attendees and participants. Average estimated attendance over the past
3 years for festival events is 500,000.
Mission Statement
To provide entertainment that enhances the quality of life for Virginia
Beach residents and visitors. We produce and promote locally and
nationally recognized events and activities that contribute to the

Organizational Structure
The Neptune Festival is a private non-profit 501-c-3 organization
consisting of a 40 member Board of Directors, 23 committees, over 1,200
Volunteers, a full time staff and 35 events. The Neptune Festival is
funded by corporate sponsorships, admission tickets, merchandise sales
and site revenues.
Community Outreach
The Neptune Festival provides exposure and fundraising opportunities
for non-profit, civic and charitable organization. Each year nearly 20
nonprofit organizations collectively earn over $100,000 from their
involvement with the festival. And there are numerous opportunities for
the community to get directly involved with the festival by
volunteering for one of the 1,200 volunteer positions.
